-Unknown/ me before I make every best worst decision ever
Ok so maybe you can't eat a steak dinner every night. The corporate card may not cover that type of expense on Seamless, but that doesn't mean you can't get your fix of artery clogging, coma inducing, red meat. Here are three places that serve great burgers:
Bear Burger: This spot is great for a number of reasons. Many ways of customizing your burger such as choosing your meat (elk and ostrich amongst the more traditional choices) and toppings make this place very different from you traditional burger joints. DIPPING SAUCES such as Curry Ketchup and Chipotle Mayo make the Onion Rings and Fries Basket a must! Best Milkshakes out of all the places on this list as well.
Shake Shack: Simply put, the shack stack which includes a cheesy burger and a fried portobello mushroom stuffed with cheddar make this my favorite burger on the list. They also have decent microbrews to wash down this heavenly gift from the beef gods. Due to the rise in popularity, this place is often crowded. My advice would be to either wait for a day when it looks like it's about to rain (like yesterday afternoon), grab your umbrella, and go to the one in Madison Square Park. It will be empty.... I promise
Rare: I recently went to Rare to eat for the first time and was very much surprised on the upside. Not only was there burger menu comprehensive, the price wasn't as bad as expected ($70 bought us 2 drinks, spinach and artichoke dip appetizer, and the two most expensive burgers). They use gourmet ingredients and it really shows the second you stick your teeth into the toasted-to-perfection bun, imported cheese, and burger made from the freshest ground steak (normal burgers available as well). To add to the experience the rooftop has my favorite view of midtown east. One lap around this place and you'll forget about the 30 minutes of indigestion that is about to occur!
Feel free to share your favorite burgers in Midtown or anywhere else in Manhattan! Also note that there are links to yelp.com as it has other useful information.
Burger Heaven is pretty good too.
ReplyDeleteI ventured out to the east side today on a mission to find a delicious burger to satiate my craving. The T-Bone burger at Rare was AMAZING and definitely did the trick. The flavor was great and the burger was so juicy and cooked perfectly. I've taken many suggestions and tried a plethora of burger houses across the US and I may have found my new favorite spot today. Can't beat a great night with good food and good company, I will definitely have to go back soon!
ReplyDeleteSHAKE SHACK! they need to open a location in every city. I wish In-N-Out would come out east, too...
